1/14/12 This is my very first blog site or website that I personally created. I have had other websites and blog sites that my friend has created for me in the past, but this is quite exciting for me. I am doing this for me 2nd Master's Degree and I hope that this site will eventually grow into something bigger in the future. I hope that all is well with everyone. Have a great weekend!

1/14/12 I just read that blogging is such a great tool in learning that the Harvard Law uses a blog for their programs.

1/22/12 I just learned more about microblogging. I am somewhat excited as well as feeling kinda iffy about it. I really like to try to keep my privacy as much as possible because of my public jobs. I will just have to be really careful about this.

1/22/12 It was very interesting to read the articles for the week in regards to technology and the "Always on Generation." It really puts things into perspective in that we have to really work hard in keeping up with technology in order to be effective teachers.

1/28/12 It was quite cool to learn more about facebook pages and podcasts this week. Once I get a hang of using such tools, it is interesting to see how much information I could add to websites and how many people I could help educate. I am excited to see what other cool types of skills that we will develop in the social media.

1/28/12 In reading this week's articles, it was good to see how technology is being integrated into the classrooms today. The fact that technology makes learning that much more available and easier is so much more effective and efficient at the same time. I am also very glad to see that educators are willing to find ways to adapt to today's students and are able to find "cooler" ways of learning.

2/12/12 This week, we learned more about apps and enhancing our PWP's. Here are my links for Plaxo and Linkedin: Plaxo: http://www.plaxo.com/profile/show/85900453211 Linkedin: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/mark-cruz/2/536/354

2/25/12 This week, we had to discuss the 3 types of professional portfolios. There is Plaxo, Linkedin, and my very own personal web page. If I like simplicity, I guess I would go with Plaxo. Plaxo just covers my contact info, and that is pretty much it. Linkedin carries more information like a bit of a resume. If I wanted to get more details out about myself, I would definitely go with the Personal Web Page, because the sky is the limit with my own PWP. I can put whatever information out there and it would be wide open for anyone to see. On the other hand, I believe that too much information out in the open can be a double-edged sword. I think at times, too much information can hurt you more than help you. I guess it all depends on the situation. I also agree that when there is a lot of information out there for you, it can also help you and somewhat boost your chances of getting a position. I am kind of on both sides of the fence. I just personally do not like exposing a whole lot about myself on the internet.

2/25/12 We had to make a survey for this week. I am headed to an 80's Themed Party, so I decided to make a little fun survey. I hope that you enjoy it! http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3HK32X2

2/26/12 I was just checking out the Statistics In Sports page:http://www.amstat.org/sections/sis/ and I found it very useful. It is quite amazing how much statistics can help in decision making even right in the middle of competition. I was coaching at a university for one year before our school purchased the "Data Volley" program as well as hired a full-time technician to run the program. We were able to break down what the competition was doing and what their tendencies were during the match. We were always able to make the correct adjustments to help with our team. It made the sport almost a science, and I am interested to see more studies made through the use of statistics.
